AABE Virginia Scholarship

OVERVIEW

AABE is professional organization that seeks to increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, and other underrepresented minorities in energy-related fields. AABE Virginia will be awarding scholarships to local graduating high school seniors intending to pursue a degree in business or one of the physical sciences: technology, engineering, and mathematics at an accredited college or university.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduating high school senior in Virginia

  • GPA average of B or better (3.0 on a 4.0 scale)

  • Enrolling at an accredited college/university

  • Pursuing a degree in business or one of the physical sciences: technology, engineering, or mathematics

  • Underrepresented minority (African American, Hispanic, or Native American)

AABE Virginia Trade Scholarship

OVERVIEW:

AABE is professional organization that seeks to increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, and other underrepresented minorities in energy-related fields. The AABE Virginia Chapter Trade Scholarship aims to empower aspiring students in Virginia to pursue careers in energy-related fields, fostering diversity and contributing to the nation's economic growth. We encourage eligible students to apply and take a step towards a rewarding future in the energy sector.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduating high school senior

  • GPA average of 2.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale)

  • Applied to and/or been accepted by an accredited technical, vocational school in Virginia

  • Reside in the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Underrepresented minority (African American, Hispanic, or Native American)

AABE National Scholarship

The American Association of Blacks in Energy proudly supports the academic achievements of students who desire careers in the energy industry, by awarding scholarships to those students who meet the minimum scholarship qualifications. Scholarships are awarded by the National office as well as the local chapters in your high school’s city or state. Please review the criteria for each scholarship carefully. All scholarship applications submitted are reviewed by a committee and all eligible students may not receive an award. AABE awards more than $350,000 in scholarships to students annually.
